This presentation will demonstrate student-centered digital media project-based assessment strategies for the science classroom. Student-created digital media projects provide transformative opportunities for students to connect and apply science content to their immediate environment, as well as allowing students opportunities to demonstrate understanding of scientific concepts through self-expression and inquiry. Benefits, procedures, and examples of digital media projects such as desktop publishing, graphic design, podcasting, annotated photography, and video editing will be presented. These projects can enrich on-ground, online, hybrid and blended learning environments alike.
